The Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society provides
four different types of tours!
1) The first is not really a tour, but browse at your leisure through our museum. Look at our displays from family artifacts and businesses that were in Alburtis, Lock Ridge and the immediate surrounding area during past times (and present.)
2) The second is our historic property tour of Alburtis. This tour was developed for the Alburtis Centennial Celebration in May 2013. Your tour guide will guide you along the streets explaining the homes and businesses from a bye gone era. This tour is currently being updated!!
3) The third is a tour of the Thomas Iron Works at Lock Ridge in Alburtis. This tour is unique in itself, for it is different from any other.
4) The fourth is a hike at Rittenhouse Gap, where in the 1800's and early 1900's was a huge mining expanse. This is a planned hike once we procure a large enough group,
preferably 10 to 15 individuals.
The museum tour is best for when our open houses are held. They are normally the first or second Saturday of the month from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please watch for special events.
The rest of the tours must be scheduled. Please contact us at alhs18011@aol.com or call 484.366.9987 for more information. We prefer to do these tours in groups of 8 to 15 people. Larger groups can be accommodated.
Donations are always welcome!!
